Meta has widened its brand-safety partnership with Integral Ad Science, bringing IAS' Content Block List optimization to campaigns running on Threads' main feed, the platform Meta says now reaches over 400 million monthly active users. The expansion gives Threads advertisers the same contextual controls IAS rolled out for Facebook and Instagram last October, covering more than 46 content categories, including politics, religion, family and parenting, and kids content, across 34 languages. IAS says its proprietary AI model analyzes content frame by frame, combining image, audio and text signals, across Facebook, Instagram, Reels and Threads. The rollout follows IAS' April update adding a misinformation category to its Total Media Quality tool, and its earlier launch of brand safety and suitability measurement built specifically for Threads.

Campaigns on Threads gain the same exclusion controls agencies already use on Facebook and Instagram, letting brands keep ads off politics, natural disasters or misinformation-adjacent content without building separate lists for each platform. IAS Custom Brand Segments add nuanced suitability rules tailored to a brand's own category and risk tolerance. As Threads scales past 400 million monthly users and adds more ad inventory, media buyers will expect brand-suitability tooling that matches Facebook and Instagram as a baseline requirement across Meta's properties.
