The embedded model at the center of James Weinberg's approach began years ago at T&P, where he placed media and creative staff inside client offices instead of running those teams from agency premises. Weinberg, now Executive Director at WPP Media, says the arrangement changes how clients experience the agency relationship: it "feels less like a supplier arrangement, and being more of an extension of their own marketing team." At T&P he also restructured how video advertising gets planned, giving the AV team ownership of audience strategy and budget setting for CTV and linear TV, with instructions passed to programmatic and digital specialists on how to spend the money once activation begins.

Clients working with T&P gain an agency team embedded in daily commercial decisions, present when budget and strategy calls are actually made, and Weinberg says he is carrying that same approach into his work at WPP. The AV team's control over CTV and linear budget setting also means media plans move through one accountable owner before programmatic and digital specialists take over activation, cutting the coordination gaps that split ownership can create. WPP's testing of WPP Open to identify which TV spots drive unique reach adds another layer: campaigns planned under this structure stand to benefit from sharper reach targeting once that automation project matures.
