Amazon has joined YouTube's U.S. shopping affiliate program, letting creators tag Amazon products inside videos, YouTube Shorts and livestreams and earn commissions when those tags produce sales. Creators need active accounts in both YouTube's shopping affiliate program and Amazon's influencer program to participate. YouTube says shopping-tagged videos generate over 110% more product clicks than videos using description links, and eligible creators can turn on auto-tagging so YouTube matches products to their content automatically. Those signed up also receive a curated catalog of Amazon's most requested and trending products to choose from for each video.

YouTube inventory now carries a shoppable layer built directly into creator video content, Shorts and livestreams. Brands with Amazon storefronts gain a commission-driven distribution channel through YouTube creators, and teams tracking attribution across video and retail sales need to account for this tagged-product pathway alongside existing paid media. International visibility of U.S. creators' Amazon tags, combined with YouTube's AI-driven local merchant matching, means a campaign built for one market can generate commerce signals in others without extra planning work.
